Yesterday I was at my disability job and I was kind of stressed. I had to drive a client to a place I had never been before.
So before I started I researched where to go and I studied the roads like it was for an exam.
All was in vain, because the client decided in the end she did not want to go.
I was relieved, but I was kind of bummed. I had spent all that time researching where to go, when I could have been working at applying for the Winston Churchill fellowship.
But I was lucky in the end. The client decided to hang at her mum’s so I ended up being able to do research at work. Until an agency worker started at 12:30pm, all she did was whinge and show pictures of her baby.
I was sitting there wishing that she would walk away and sit on the couch.
But she kept whinging for the three hours that she was working.
I realised that I am grateful for being a patient person. That I use time wisely and I am always prepared for opportunities to work on my dreams.
